Mission and Vision

The mission of the Filipino Family & Support Program is to empower family supporters through advocacy, education and linkage to family-centered resources. We organize and develop culturally receptive support groups for families that would benefit from regular support sessions. For all families impacted by mental health issues, someone who speaks Tagalog and is culturally sensitive  is available for to talk to family members and educate the family on how to access services through the county’s mental health system.

Our focus is to:
(1) to create support through a cultural setting towards mental health healing
(2) to build community awareness and action to address stigma and discrimination
(3) to assist families by functioning as a bridge to appropriate health care.
